Today's episode features Leisl Cording, senior vice president and financial advisor at Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors. Let's dig into today's topic. All right, so let's talk about those money-saving apps, what's on your mind. Well, here, we have four great apps that we're going to talk about today and they can help you save a good amount of time and money, so the first app that we're going to talk about and you've probably heard of this one, it used to be known as E-bates but now it's known as Rakutan and that's R-A-K-U-T-E-N. And this is really one that has led the space in digital deals and that's because it's the one that saves you money on things that you're already buying. And so that this app typically retailers that use, it are like Target, Walmart Sephora if you're buying makeup. Yeah, I figured so this app is full of coupons and you can earn cash back. And the really great thing is that you could either use the coupons, you could use the, or get it cash back and deposited or have a check sent to you. So that's, that's great. All right, that's pretty good that. And it could save you some money. How about finding coupon codes on websites? That, that can be mixed results. It can and it can be a time suck. Yeah, it sure can, exactly. So there is an app for that, it's called Honey, and it's actually owned by PayPal. But it automatically checks for available promo codes of 30,000 different sites. So you know how you like you're searching for something. And there's a promo code. You like ooh have to write that down in case I ever go to need something on that website? So that's that's a really great thing and the way that you can install that extension, you go to joinhoney.com, click download the free extension and it will walk you through the rest of it, it's pretty easy. So is that just for you computer can use it on your smart device? Your smartphone also? Well, there's a different app for that. So this is the third app and it's called Snip Snap. And if you you know, if your lifetime couponer, you know, how rewarding it is to present a stack of coupons at checkout and you know, you feel great about that. But what you can do is Snip Snap takes the experience to the digital age, which is great. Because you think of all the coupons you have laying around in your like I left him at home or? Yeah. But you just open the app on your phone and you can scan a product while you're in store, and it'll pull up all the available coupons that you might have. Wow, So, it also allows you to scan physical coupons and that you have lying around and keep them organized in your phone. So that's really, that's really great for people that love to store those those paper and digital coupons. Yeah. And even smaller stores, who maybe don't have digital coupons. What about them what can we do for that? Well there's an app it's called Drop and its really great because it's easy and versatile. All you have to do is link up your credit and debit card. And Drop gives you reward points when you shop through, you know, the app and there's I mean, some of the top retailers use it like Walmart Amazon, Trader Joe's, but you can also earn points on doing other things like ordering food delivery or if you get a ride from Lyft or Uber. So those are all really great things too. And again you can with the points, you can use it for the places you're going anyway, right? Exactly. Redeem it for gift cards to places like Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart. So, you could also use them toward a charitable donation, which is really cool. And then another benefit too, it can work simultaneously, this Drop app, with coupon apps like Rakuten or Honey so you could really potentially save quite a bit in addition to to the savings that you already have. So it's a win-win. That's that's right. Gary. And I mean and so if we were to sort of link this to an overall bigger win for yourself. Let's say you're saving $20 per week through these apps and thrifty shopping. If you actually invest that twenty dollars, as part of a longer term financial strategy based on historical returns after ten years that$20 a week turns into $18,600. So that's, I mean, that's a really great that, you know, example of how all of these savings can really add up. I see what you did there. You brought it around full circle. That's right, Gary.
